Automotive Part Cleaners

Automotive part cleaners are products specially formulated for cleaning vehicle parts and accessories.

How do automotive part cleaners work?

Automotive part cleaners are typically made of blended solvents or aqueous (water-based) solutions. Some versions come in a spray can that can be used to quickly and safely remove oil, grease, brake fluid and other contaminants. Usually, the solution is sprayed on the specific part that needs cleaning and then wiped off, usually with a piece of cloth.

When certain moving parts rely on oil and grease for easy movement, this needs to be re-applied once the part has been cleaned.

What are automotive part cleaners used for?

Automotive part cleaners can be used for cleaning a wide range of parts, from the smallest nut and bolt to transmissions and entire engine blocks. Cleaning is important where contaminants may affect functionality, for example in the following vehicle parts:

  • Springs
  • Engine bays
  • Brake pads
  • Radiator hoses
  • Carburettors
  • Callipers
  • Clutch discs
  • Wedge brakes
  • Brake discs
