RS PRO Industrial Incoloy Sheathed Water Heaters

Introducing the comprehensive range of industrial immersion water heater elements from our RS PRO range. These rod adjustable thermostats feature an Incoloy sheathed heating element perfect for hot water heating. Incoloy generally refers to nickel based alloys designed for excellent corrosion resistance and strength at high temperatures. These heating elements work particularly well in heavy duty/hard or aggressive waters.

Options include:
272-996 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 3KW 11 inch
273-006 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 3KW 30 inch
273-012 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 4KW 11 inch
273-028 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 4KW 16 inch
273-034 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 6KW 16 inch
273-040 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 6KW 30 inch
273-056 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 9KW 14 inch
273-062 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 9KW 27 inch
273-135 - INCOLOY SHEATHED WATER HEATER, 12KW 24 inch

Features and Benefits:

• Wired in single or 3 phase suitable for applications requiring either a single
• Control thermostat in the Incoloy 825 pocket, with all dual cut out heaters coming with a rod thermostat (supplied)
• Can be immersed in lengths up to 11 - 30 inches
• BSP threaded brass head
• Hose proof polypropylene terminal enclosure which can be rotated in any position
• Fitted with thermostat and jointing gasket

Safety features:
• Dual cut-out
• Separate secondary manual reset safety cut-out (alongside the dual cut-out) which is directly fitted to the actual immersion heater head

Applications:

Immersion heaters are electric heating elements that are found in water cylinders to heat water. These elements perform like a kettle to heat the surrounding water in the cylinder. One key advantage of an immersion heater element within your heating system is that if the boiler fails, you should still be able to get hot water. The element usually has its own power supply which means that it can be turned on and off when needed so that water is not constantly being heated unnecessarily.

FAQs

How do water heater elements work?

A water heating element is a pair of upper and lower heating elements that fit into a water heater of some sort. An electric current is passed through the elements which then heats the cold water.

What causes water heater elements to burn out?
Below are some causes:

  • Power surge - a sudden voltage increase to the element caused by a power surge can be enough to burn out an element.

  • Wires - a bad connection can cause an element to stop working.

  • Thermostat tripping out- these have a high limit switch that shuts off power to the elements when temperatures exceed normal.

  • Minerals - sediment collects at the bottom of the water heater tank, encasing the lower element. The element is forced to work harder, and will eventually fail.

  • Air pockets - these allow the upper element to burn while not immersed in water, resulting in failure.
