This photoelectric sensor detects objects using background suppression and is intended for industrial automation tasks. It operates from a DC supply, switches via a PNP output and connects through a male M8 4‑pin interface. The device is housed in Vistal plastic with ingress protection suited to demanding environments and is panel mountable for Compact installations.

What light source does it use and how precise is the beam?

It uses a red pin-point LED with a 650nm Wavelength and a focused spot down to Ø4.5mm at 75mm for accurate targeting.

How is the sensing range affected by object reflectivity?

The maximum detection distance varies with reflectance
white (90% remission) reaches up to 350mm while dark (6% remission) is specified from 20mm to 200mm for reliable switching.

What electrical supply and output constraints apply?

It accepts 10V–30V DC supply with ripple limits and provides a complementary PNP switching output with Imax up to 100mA, reduced at higher ambient temperatures.

How is the unit adjusted and how is status indicated?

Sensitivity is set via a 5‑turn potentiometer and LED indicators show power and received light level for alignment and commissioning.

Notes

For retro-reflective sensors a suitable reflector is required.
